3 million Americans have epilepsy. 200,ooo will have a new diagnosis this year! The annual cost for this is around 15 billion each year medically and in lost wages and time off work. More have epilepsy than Parkinson's, muscular distrophy, cerebral palsy, and MS Combined.

Anyone can have 1 seizure at any time, but this does not mean they will have epilepsy.
Epilepsy is having repeated seizures or misfiring in their brain~the neurons in their brains~ over reacting misfiring, Often the cause is not known. Please help us find a cure. The impact is often a broad range. For some, they are able to work, go school and get along quite well and keep seizures in control, as long as they take their medications. Others, around 30-40% cannot find control of their seizures and the impact is far greater. These people especially need new treatment options, new HOPE< a CURE for tomorrow

Sam is doing better this year considering what a rough time he had last year! He has started a business called PTT~ Preventing TEEN TRAGEDY reaching out to other teens who are dealing with depression, cutting, abortion and so many other issues with which teens struggle with and feel overwhelmed. Sam listens and helps them when they feel no one else will. He has developed a T-shirt and Sweat-shirt line that he sells as well. We are so very proud. All through this he is keeping up with school and struggling to get his seizures under control and still trying to get the co-morbid depression controlled. He is doing a GOOD job!! His team of doctors are working with us now to help gain seizure control! A recent medication add is helping to get much better control of the seizures and we rejoice in this!
